GDP-β-L-fucose (GDP-Fuc) is a nucleotide sugar and the donor substrate for eukaryotic (FUT) and prokaryotic fucosyltransferases (FucT) [1,2]. FUTs and FucTs are utilized for in vitro glycoengineering of biopharmaceutical glycoproteins [3] and cell surface glycans [4]. Further application fields are the synthesis of human milk oligosaccharides [5] and glycan epitopes such as Lewis and blood group antigens [6]. References: [1] Frohnmeyer, H.; Elling, L., Carbohydr.
