The protein kinase A activator Sp-cAMPS (Cat. No. A 003) immobilized on agarose by an aminoethylcarbamoyl spacer attached to the ribose 2' position of the ligand. Free Sp-cAMPS is only very slowly metabolized by mammalian phosphodiesterases and thus represents an extraordinary stable ligand. In addition, its reduced binding affinity towards protein kinase A compared to cAMP results in milder desorption conditions in affinity chromatography. The gel can be used for affinity chromatography of various cyclic nucleotide-responsive proteins, especially those which tolerate modification of the 2'-ribose hydroxyl group such as some phosphodiesterases. This type of gel is offered with a longer spacer (Sp-2'-AHC-cAMPS-Agarose, Cat. No. A 050) as well. Detailed technical information available.
Normally all affinity gels are supplied in pre-packed columns. The free beads without a column are available upon request.
